We have a separate textile recycling service for regular, non-branded clothing. This is more cost effective as it does not need to be treated with such a high security standard.
Your lockable bins are stored at our secure shredding unit, before being shredded in compliance with BS EN 15713. You will be provided with a Certificate of Destruction to confirm this. All staff collecting secure textiles are vetted.
If uniforms are over 50% natural content, they can be recycled. Items made from synthetic fibres are more challenging to recycle due to their chemical composition. Where recycling is not possible, these materials are sent to an Energy from Waste (EfW) facility where they are incinerated to produce renewable energy and heat.
