  • Collecting and recycling cardboard separately can lower waste management costs for your business. It reduces the volume of mixed waste and minimises collection frequency, leading to overall savings.

Recycled cardboard can also be repurposed into products such as packaging materials, which can be repurchased for further cost savings.

  • To properly prepare cardboard for recycling:

    • Break down and flatten boxes
    • Remove any non-cardboard materials (tape, staples, etc.)
    • Keep cardboard clean and dry
    • Separate cardboard from other recyclables
  • If you generate large volumes of cardboard and would like to reduce the storage space needed, we recommend using a cardboard baler.

  • It’s less expensive and more environmentally friendly! Recorra always encourage source segregation for better quality recycling. Cardboard takes up a lot of space within the mixed recycling stream, reducing recycling rates. Collecting cardboard separately retains its material value and reduces cost overall.
