From Waste to Plate: Recorra and Plan Zheroes tackle food waste across London
Recorra’s new charity partnership with Plan Zheroes is helping to reduce food poverty and food waste across London, with each food waste collection from Recorra customers.
We recycle discarded and uneaten food from our customers, no matter the quantity. From food manufacturers and commercial kitchens to small offices and retail outlets, we cater to businesses of all sizes.
From March 2025, food waste recycling will be mandatory in the UK for all businesses with over 10 employees. Businesses with under 10 employees will have to comply by March 2027.

Food waste is any discarded or uneaten food, from either the production, retail, or consumer levels. It includes food that is spoiled, expired, or uneaten due to over-preparation or improper storage.
Yes. From March 2025, food waste collections are mandatory for businesses in the UK. For micro-businesses with less than 10 employees, this will come into force in March 2027.
All food waste produced must be recycled to remain compliant with legislation. We recommend a ‘small volume’ collection using our 40L caddy, although you can still purchase a wheeled bin.
We recommend using a caddy or a wheeled bin, depending on how much food waste you produce. You may place your 40L caddy directly on the street, and we will collect this from your workplace.
