Why is IT and Electronic waste recycling needed?

Our growing reliance on technology in the workplace has raised the profile of IT and electronic waste (e-waste). Research indicates that the amount produced this decade could reach 5 million metric tonnes, turbo-charged by the artificial intelligence boom.

The environmental impacts of IT and electronic waste are considerable, making the improvement of recycling UEEE crucial for achieving sustainability tragets. E-waste commonly contains harmful chemicals and non-renewable materials that are mined from around the globe. Recycling these materials alleviates the need to source new materials from potentially irresponsible sources.

At Recorra, our specialised sorting facility at our MRF in Purfleet, Essex expertly processes waste, securely wiping data when necessary, and refurbishing or recycling your old electronics.
