Today I’d like to tell you about the 2degrees awards. 2degrees are a community for sustainable businesses who want to work together to increase sustainability. Anyone can become a member, all you need to do is sign up and it’s completely free. The awards are aimed at recognising those who drive innovation and push the boundaries of sustainable businesses and are voted for by 2degrees members. This year we have entered the category for Waste and Resource Management for our new MRF and shredding facility and we’d really appreciate your vote which you can do by heading over to our awards entry.
Over the next few weeks we’ll be campaigning across social media for votes with the help of Bertie, the BPR Bear. Bertie started life as a ‘Build-a-Bear’ belonging to a little girl called Chelsea. They had a lot of fun together and soon she wanted to let someone else enjoy Bertie’s company so she took him along to the local Salvation Army charity shop. It was here that we came across Bertie and decided to give him a new lease of life. He’s already been shown around our office and was excited when he saw the award’s Social Buzz page. Over the next few weeks we’ll be showing him the other areas our MRF has had a positive impact on waste and resource management across London. You can follow Bertie’s adventures across our social media channels and using #TeamBPR.
